CHARITY KAYAK PADDLE DOWN THE ENTIRE LOWER COLORADO RIVER, LAKE MEAD TO MEXICO
This expedition is to benefit our chosen charity, Break The Silence Against Domestic Violence.
Colorado River– The Bow South Expedition is a charity kayak paddle down the entire lower Colorado River, 500 miles from South Cove on the eastern end of Lake Mead to the Gulf of California in Mexico. This charity paddle is being held as a fundraiser for our benefitting charity, Break The Silence Against Domestic Violence.
This expedition is entirely self-funded by our team members. We do not seek sponsors nor solicit donations for the purposes of funding the expedition itself. All money that is donated from individuals, clubs or businesses are made directly to the benefitting charity via our fundraising webpage.
Only a handful of people have ever been documented canoeing or kayaking the entire lower Colorado River in one long trip. On November 1 we will launch from South Cove on the eastern end of Lake Mead and paddle through 3 wildlife refuges, 3 giant lakes, portage 8 dams, and end our journey at the historic mouth of the Colorado River at the top of the Gulf of California in Mexico. We will be paddling an average of 20+ miles a day, almost every day, for 4 weeks.
Everyone can follow our adventures down the Colorado River during the expedition, see our current position via our SPOT satellite tracker, or get information about how to donate to our benefiting charity by visiting our expedition website at http://www.riverbroncs.com. The website for Break The Silence Against Domestic Violence is http://www.breakthesilencedv.org.
